DURANT, OK (May 18, 2012) – The Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma and Chris Sturch, MD of the Sturch Family Clinic are proud to announce the addition of Monica Woodall, DO, Family Practice Physician to their staff.
Dr. Woodall has signed an agreement to join the Sturch Family Clinic and practice family medicine here in Durant. Dr. Woodall will see all ages of patients at the clinic and in the hospital. Dr. Woodall will begin accepting patients June 1 and will begin practice on July 16.
Dr. Woodall was born in Oklahoma City and attended high school at Westmoore High School where she graduated Valedictorian and attended Oklahoma City Community College on a full scholarship and obtained an Associate of Science with honors in Pre-Medicine. While attending college in Oklahoma she worked at the University of Oklahoma, researching Congestive Heart Failure. Dr. Woodall then moved to Commerce, TX where she attended Texas A&M University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science, Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Woodall was accepted to Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated at the top of her class.
Although she was born in Oklahoma City, she spent many summers as a child and adult at Lake Texoma as this is her father’s hometown. Shortly after being accepted to medical school, her parents retired to Mead, Oklahoma.
Dr. Woodall moved to Durant to attend residency at Durant Family Medicine. She has been seeing patients in Durant since 2009. While completing her residency she became involved in the community as a board member for New Life House and also served as Chief Resident during her last year at the clinic.
Dr. Woodall and her husband, Lee, live in Durant and attend Victory Life Church. Dr. Woodall considers Durant her home and plans to spend the rest of her career here to be close to family and to practice medicine in a rural area
